KAREN HAS WORKED as Health Editor and reporter for the Times News Group, in San Jose.  She has authored one book and contributed to ten gift book anthologies. Her articles have appeared in a wide variety of both secular and Christian publications, including Writer's Digest, California Today, Focus on the Family and Guideposts. She currently writes health-related articles for Hope for Women magazine and other periodicals. In her “spare time” Strand keeps up with a pen pal outreach to prison inmates.  (See "Did Jesus Die for Larry?")
      Currently residing in the Pacific Northwest, Karen lives with her husband, Paul, one bossy cat named Tater Tot, and a mischievous dog named Daffy.  She is Mom to four grown children, stepmom to three, and grandma to a wide assortment of kids whose ages range from eighteen to three.  She reads a lot, walks when motivated, and swims at every opportunity.
